2020 - Arcadiate Version 6
Arcadiate version 6 is based on multiple sqlite stores instead of a single global store. This was necessary to accommodate very large chromatographic data sets as they can be generated by a timsTOF mass spectrometer. The changes required were so fundamental that no direct migration path from the old file file format is offered. The best is to use the old Arcadiate version (up to version 5.01) to export data objects in Arcadiate xml format via the command File > Export > Arcadiate xml... and to re-import the xml files into the new Arcadiate version (from version 6.0).

2017 - Arcadiate Version 4
With new versions of Arcadiate the database format changes to enable new capabilities. Generally the old database version is migrated to the new version the first time a new Arcadiate version is used. The version 4 is an exception. The best is to use the old Arcadiate version (up to version 3.3 to export data objects and to re-import the files into the new Arcadiate version (from version 4.0).
